Yaoqing Wang

Yaoqing Wang is soprano who is native to Wuhan China who started her journey as a vocalist in high school and she won 1st Place in the 2019 HuangLong Music Teenage Voice competition. Her passion is to sing all kind of opera, opera is the thing that inspires her to be a soprano.

As a performer Yaoqing participated in Dido&Aeneas as 1st Witch and The Fairy Queen as Mystery in 2023. And also performs Zerlina in Don Giovanni (partial), Falstaff (partial). She was participating Classic Lyric Arts and MUSIKTHEATER Bavaria in 2023. She is deeply passionate about performing role in romantic period and Baroque period opera.

As an aspiring educator, Yaoqing had opportunities to teach privately throughout her studies. She taught students ages 17-18. In her teaching, Yaoqing focuses on inspiring her students to pursue music professionally and focus on student’s vocal health. She hopes to expand her knowledge to bring it back to her hometown.

Yaoqing holds her bachelor's degree in vocal performance from MSM studying with Ashley Putnam and she is currently pursuing her Masters in Vocal Performance at Peabody Conservatory studying with Randall Scarlata.
